Having your portrait done shouldn’t be so complicated.

We created this page to lay out the journey you will go on with us. And remember, we are here if you have any questions.

ONE: The Design Appointment

At Walden's, we always begin with the end in mind. That is why we put so much emphasis on this stage of your journey with us.

At this appointment, we will go over the details for your upcoming portrait as we discuss ideas and make our plans.

You will leave this time spent together ready for your session.

TWO: Let’s talk about clothing.

You left the Visioning and Planning appointment with an idea of the Palette you would like to work in for your Color Study or Beau Visage painting. If you plan to do a Black and White portrait, you left understanding that palette as well.

Before your portrait session, if you have clothing questions or need any help in this area, our Stylist is available to consult via email or Zoom.

Finalizing the outfits and knowing all details are worked out prior to your session will allow you to relax and enjoy this experience.

IN ADDITION…

Need help? Does figuring out the clothing and other details seem overwhelming?

Well, here is your answer; a personal assistant, our newest team member and stylist, Deborah.

She is here to assist you throughout the entire Walden journey, from planning and preparation to finding the perfect spot in your home for your cherished portraits to hang.

With her background in fashion merchandising and a deep passion for portrait photography, she has a keen eye for creating stunning visual stories that beautifully capture the essence of your loved ones.

THREE: The Portrait Session

The big day is here! You can arrive confident knowing that all of the details are in place for a wonderful experience.

Rest assured that the Waldens will bring out the best in everyone as they work their magic to get your family relaxed.

All that's left for you to do is enjoy the session and perhaps book a special lunch or dinner to celebrate that you actually pulled it off!

Our hope is that the experience of having your family photographed is a memory you will cherish as much as you will cherish the portraits themselves.

FOUR: Selection + Order

A week or two after your session, you will return to the studio for your selection appointment.

Tim will share his thoughts with you to determine what he feels are the best portraits from your session.

You will see your portraits on your walls through a special, advanced software the Waldens use in conjunction with the photos of your walls taken at an earlier time. No more guessing what size will look the best-we can now show you exactly how your portraits will look-virtually.

FIVE: Production

Once your order is placed, we oversee every step of the production process, ensuring that your portrait is perfect in every way.

Whether we are creating Signature Canvasses, Museum black and white wall portraits, Beau Visage painted pieces or hand-printed Artisan Boxes or albums, rest assured that we use only the best archival materials for your portraits.

We are print artists.

SIX: The Installation

You have waited and now the day is here for you to see your art pieces.

We believe what we do is worth the wait…the level of craftsmanship that goes into every piece is well worth it and it takes time.

There is no experience like seeing your portraits or paintings, framed and hanging in your home to grace your walls for years to come.

SEVEN: Until we meet again

Now you can sit and take a breath. We are thrilled that your portraits are hung on your walls to enjoy.

But...we both know that those kids will keep growing and changing, so what about next year and the year after that?

No worries. Once you are part of our family here at Walden's, we help you create a vision for future sessions based on the ages of your children and the design vision for your home.

Our pieces look great now and will be able to move throughout your home as we add to your family art collection over time.

Updating your portraits and wall art every few years as your family grows and changes is an important part of the art experience.

Portraits of your children (and yourselves) through all of the important times of life is a reflection of who they are and allows them to look back on your family's history.

It is our pleasure and honor to create this retrospective timeline for your family to enjoy for years to come.
