Artists. Husband and wife. Community driven. International photographers and instructors.

We met in high school and soon after college, we got married.

Not long after that, we took over Walden's Photography from Tim's father who was in a wheelchair as he was paralyzed in his early 30s. He was a talented photographer who didn't let tough circumstances define his life.

Lessons learned from him guide us today.

Our love of portrait photography of families and children is our passion.

Perfectionist? Yes! Demanding excellence? Always!

He mentored both of us and put us on the road we are on today as the owners of Walden's Photography.

"Life takes you to unexpected places. Love brings you home."

  • Tim Walden, Photographer

M.Photog.Hon.M.Photog.Cr.,CPP, Fellow, American Society of Photographers

Tim was fortunate to know exactly what he wanted to do when he "grew up!"

Following in his father's footsteps, he knew he wanted to be a portrait photographer from the age of 12 when he helped his dad in the darkroom.

He was elected as the President of the Professional Photographers of America in 2013, an international organization of over 30,000 members.

Today, he owns and runs Walden’s Photography with Beverly along with coaching other professional photographers in the USA and abroad.

Tim is a member of the elite photography organization started in 1905, Camera Craftsmen of America.

Tim and Bev are both members of the Society of XXV, an international organization of photographers who gather annually to share images and ideas to raise photography standards.

  • Beverly Walden, Artist

M.Photog.Cr., Member of International Society of Portrait Artists

Bev started her career as an artist in college and is thrilled to bring her artistry to Walden's through her Beau Visage mixed media paintings.

From the time she and Tim were married, she was intrigued with portraits and how to capture the soul of a person through photography.

Of course, she had the best teachers available in Tim and his father, Bob.

As she continued to pursue photography, she won the first Kodak Gallery Elite Award ever given in 1986 for the top portrait in America.

As much as she loved photography, she felt a yearning to return to her roots of painting, and Beau Visage was born in 2005.

She was invited to join the International Society of Portrait Artists in 2018.

Today, she continues to hone her skills, painting portraits done in the Walden studio.

“Help someone, not for the reward, but for the sake of changing a life.”

Tim and Bev are involved in photographing children in Kentucky Children's Hospital with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses, a project that continues the legacy of Daniel's Care, a pediatric hospice program, which they did for two decades.

The images below of patients with their parents or caretakers (from Kentucky Children’s Hospital) demonstrate the great need to capture moments that are special for the families.

It is our honor to provide one family each month with an archival, black and white framed wall portrait at no cost to the family.
