Why Early Christmas Portraits Are the Gift That Keeps on Giving
The holiday season is magical, but let's face it – it can also be stressful. Between shopping, decorating, and attending events, December flies by in a blur. That's why scheduling your family's Christmas portrait early is a gift to yourself.
By booking a session in September or October, you're not just crossing an item off your to-do list. You're creating a moment of joy and connection with your loved ones before the chaos begins.
Before the chaos begins…
Why is it so important to schedule this session now, before the holidays? Simple - our availability becomes extremely limited as we approach the winter months.
If you wait until the last minute, you risk scrambling to find an open appointment time.
Beat the rush
As summer winds down and the new school year approaches, it's time to start thinking about one of the most important milestones of your high school career: senior portraits.

The longer you wait…

There is something special about holding a printed photograph or leafing through a book full of your family’s photos in your hands. It creates a stronger emotional connection to the moment captured, allowing you to reminisce and share stories more vividly.

Overcoming Excuses: Why Those 12 Years Matter
While many of you, as parents, understand the importance of capturing your child's milestone portraits, life often gets in the way, leading to the "Twelve Year Gap" – the period between ages 5 and 17 when it’s simply easier to delay (or completely miss doing) these portraits.
Here are some common excuses we hear and a few thoughts to hopefully help you overcome missing out on these significant years.
The Twelve Year Gap…the lost years.
As professional children and family photographers with four decades of experience, we've noticed a concerning trend – what we call "The Twelve Year Gap." Parents enthusiastically capture their child's milestone portrait at age 5, but then, we don't see them again until their high school senior year at 17. It's as if an entire decade of their childhood has been lost, frozen in time, with no visual record of their growth and development.
Full Circle Moment
In a very special full circle moment, Lauren returned to our studio and this time, as a high school senior, ready for her portrait session. As we prepared to capture this pivotal moment, a wave of emotion swept through the camera room.
